Greetings from the Internet!

Wish You Were Here is a blog dedicated to the whimsical, wonderful world of postcards. We aim to share postcards from wide and far in both time and distance. These are small moments of history. While some may seem insignificant to us now, they reflect the realities of someone’s life, whenever and wherever that may have been

Postcards have the unique ability to capture such a distinct and sometimes shocking snapshot of a single moment in time. Some are boring, some are scandalous, and the rest are somewhere in between. And isn’t that something sort of wonderful?

Wish You Were Here is run by postcard collector & enthusiast Alex Cottle. She is very easy to find on the internet.

*Disclaimer*

Not every postcard is created equal. Some postcards may have inappropriate images or messages. I do my best not to purchase, post, or feature postcards that demonstrate or glamorize racism, antisemitism, homophobia, ableism, or other hateful ideologies. If there is a post that you feel is offensive, whether implicitly or explicitly, please let me know. Because I only have my own experience and context, I may miss things sometimes, but I am by no means asking you to excuse it. I will remove any hateful or harmful posts if and when they come to my attention.
